Painting parts for the Saab 9-5 engine rebuild

A few essential “I painted some shit” photos.

Stripped then painted the valve cover

Intake plenum, turbo cobra pipe and engine mount "yoke"

Still thinking about the balance shaft delete. At the moment I quite like the idea of dropping them for better response – it's always nice to have an engine that's ready to go! But, the smoothness of the motor is one of the many lovely aspects of these car, leaving me very much in two minds about it all.

My power goals aren't insane – long term aim is ~350hp/260kw – which is roughly the same as the Focus RS, S4, and a load of other mid-range performance cars.
