Troubleshooting my B235R no-crank issue

After thinking I may have killed the ECU with a bad ground I made some tweaks to the harness earth points - cleaning up connectors and mount points to ensure they make good contact.

After that I got it to run, but it still had a few gremlins:

  • SID (info display) now very very faint
  • No radio operation
  • Sunroof not operating
  • Key acceptance seems slow
  • Throttle response seems very slow
  • probably a few other small systems..

Fairly minor issues, but of course I need to solve them. The good news is it had air, fuel, and spark, and the newly built engine did not explode.

With further checking I found the source of the issue... this should've been an easy one!

Blown 60amp Maxi fuse – currently waiting on a spare to confirm.. (hoping Mrs P picks it up for me). Seems wiring the ground to the wrong location caused the ECU fuse to blow... it did its job.

EDIT: All good with the new Maxi in there. I got lucky!
